Nearly half of workers have experienced workplace discrimination, study finds

In the People Management article “Nearly half of workers have experienced workplace discrimination, study finds,” a survey of 4,000 UK adults reveals that 45% have faced discrimination at work or during hiring, with 39% believing bias cost them job opportunities. Aggie Yemurai Mutuma, CEO of Mahogany Inclusion Partners, stresses that such widespread bias is a systemic pattern undermining equity and inclusion, urging employers to move beyond awareness by implementing accountability, psychological safety, enforced policies, and honest conversations at leadership level.
